Cyberbully case: Cheras police awaits MCMC confirmation on alleged TikTok cyberbullies

Cheras OCPD ACP Aidil Bolhassan have confirmed that his team has requested for confirmation on the TikTok handles that have been used to cyberbully Swashna Subramaniam from the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

“An application to confirm and obtain the details of the TikTok account owners was sent to the MCMC on Oct 10.

“Our investigation officer have contacted one Puan Haliza of MCMC to assist in blocking the accounts and videos from several accounts that frequently harasses the complainant.

He said this in response to questions on police action since Swashna also exposed the matter via a press conference with Global Human Rights Federation on Oct 1 and raised the matter to federal legislators on Oct 9.

In a police report lodged on Sept 22, Swashna said that a number of TikTok account handles have been used to link her to the death of TikTok influencer, Esha last year.

This is inclusive of an account held in the name of an NGO, PKIPN. The individual behind this account, Joseph Prakash had exposed conversations with Swashna without her consent to gain followers during live sessions.
