‘UPM is going after whistleblowers instead of perpetrators’

Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam (Peka) president Rajesh Nagarajan took UPM to task once again as the university was going after the whistleblowers who leaked the information regarding the dog killing operations instead of taking action against the perpetrators.

“Why is UPM going after the whistle blowers instead of the perpetrators?”

He also called for action against the Occupational Safety and Health Management Office Director Associate Professor Dr Ng Yee Guan.

“We want him suspended or sacked.”

The above mentioned office was the office that approved the dog killing operations in December 2024 and in January.

Vice chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah was not spared too.

“Why hasn’t he taken action? This is misfeasance of public office.”

Rajesh also revealed that his group would be lodging a report to the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission as well as the Higher Education Ministry.

“Why did UPM pay RM400 per dog when the quotation only mentioned RM220? We will also stage a protest in front of the Higher Education Ministry if no action is taken.”

“UPM is waiting for this to blow over but we will not let it go until someone goes to jail.”

Rajesh said this during a protest held in front of Pintu 13, UPM.

Despite the rain, the protest saw the participation of around 100 participants from 20 animal rights groups as well as university students, including from Universiti Malaya.
