Malaysia marks a milestone on blockchain

Malaysia marks a significant milestone today with the launch of International Blockchain Organisation (Malaysia) today.

Better known as IBOM it would be shaping the nation’s journey toward blockchain innovation, digital inclusion and Web3 ecosystem development.

IBOM aims to make Malaysia the regional hub for blockchain research, innovation and responsible adoption.

ā€œBlockchain technology is not just about cryptocurrency—it represents the foundation of a transparent, secure, and decentralised future,” said IBOM chief business development officer Rolv Reissiger.

“IBO Malaysia is committed to creating a collaborative platform that connects innovators, regulators, and enterprises to unlock blockchain’s full potential across industries,ā€ he added.

IBOM will focus on four key pillars – policy advocacy and regulatory alignment, education and talent development, industry collaboration and innovation and international engagement.

ā€œThe future of blockchain is borderless —and so is our mission. Through partnerships, education, and innovation, we aim to make Malaysia a trusted node in the global blockchain ecosystem,ā€ added Reissiger.

The launch was held at Confetti KL with industry players, academia and the blockchain community.
