Modi to attend 47th ASEAN Summit online, PM Anwar confirms

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be attending the 47th ASEAN Summit via online, confirmed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“He said that he would attend via online since Deepavali celebration are ongoing at that time.

“I respect his decision and wished him and Indians,” said Anwar via a Facebook post after speaking to Modi over the phone.

Anwar also noted that India remains Malaysia vital partner in trade and investments while cooperating closely in the fields of technology, education and regional security.

The 47th ASEAN Summit would be held from Oct 26 to 28.

Yesterday Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin confirmed he has delegated his attendance to Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
