MAHB senior staff appointments: Minister defends decision
Transport Minister Anthony Loke defended Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad’s (MAHB) senior staff appointment.
“Eight out of 12 senior positions (including MAHB managing director) are filled by locals.”
He said this in his written reply to Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (PN-Machang) who questioned on the required number of locals necessary to fill top 10 senior positions.
The opposition lawmaker also highlighted that the Cyber Security and Information Technology division head of MAHB is an Indian national. He questioned the lack of local talents to fill the position.
“The position choice are done based on MAHB’s assessment of their expertise and international experience.
“According to MAHB, the appointments are made after transparent and competitive filtering are done on both local and foreign candidates,” Loke said
