PKR division eyes Tapah as MIC mulls over BN exit
Tapah PKR has announced that it is prepared to represent the constituency following MIC’s AGM that saw delegates passing the motion for MIC to exit BN.
“Based on the last election record, Pakatan Harapan, especially PKR is in the second spot with growing support.
“Tapah PKR is confident that Tapah parliament can be won if a mandate is given by the party leadership,” said Tapah PKR division chief Azam Afandi in a statement.
PKR candidates have come second most voted since the general election in 2008.
During the AGM yesterday, MIC delegates have passed the motion to quit BN. They have however allowed their central working committee to determine the party’s future.
MIC president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran have confirmed that MIC would be supporting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s government regardless of the coalition it joins.
