‘MIC won’t leave BN, but another party is dying too’

A political analyst is confident that the MIC would not leave the BN coalition even though MIC delegates have passed the resolution for the party to leave the coalition.

On that note, the University of Tasmania based analyst, James Chin is of the opinion that Umno too would be facing the same fate as MIC.

“I don’t think MIC will leave BN. They cannot survive politically as a stand-alone party,” he wrote on Facebook.

“If they leave BN, they will end-up with zero seats in the next GE, zero at DUN as well.

“On the other hand, UMNO is a dying party- the Malays are not coming back to UMNO under Zahid…

“What to do? Many Indians have joined PKR, writing on the wall?”

MIC’s top governing body – the central working committee (CWC) would be deciding on whether the party is to remain in BN or quit to join another coalition.

The party has already been courted by federal opposition – Perikatan Nasional.

The next CWC has not been scheduled yet but it would be held in December.
