Still tracing Riduan, says IGP

Inspector General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail confirmed today that the police are still tracing M Indira Gandhi’s ex-husband, Muhammad Riduan Abdullah, formerly known as Pathmanathan Krishnan.

He also confirmed that Riduan remains barred from travelling abroad.

Riduan had converted to Islam and unilaterally converted his children. He also escaped with his youngest daughter, Prasana Diksa in 2009 when Prasana was 11 months old.

Efforts to trace Riduan are on as he is alleged to have used his identity card to receive various government aid such as BUDI95 and SARA.

“At the same time, checks have also been carried out with the cooperation of the Immigration Department of Malaysia to verify the status of the special travel restriction (Sekatan Perjalanan Khas), which remains in force against the individual involved,” Mohd Khalid said.

Earlier today, several DAP MPs, notably RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) and Ramkarpal Singh (PH-Bukit Gelugor) raised this issue while debating an increase in funds for the police force in Budget 2026 committee stage.

Indira, Indira Gandhi Action Team (Ingat) and several NGOs to co-organise a justice march on Nov 22 from Sogo in Kuala Lumpur to Bukit Aman to hand over her estranged daughter, Prasana Diksa’s teddy bear, to the IGP, in a symbolic demand for her daughter’s return.

Khailid did not show up and was heavily criticised.

“We stress that every action taken towards managing this case has been done professionally, transparently, and with integrity, to ensure that justice is upheld in accordance with the law,” he said.
