Sabah Umno: Four individuals identified as potential candidates for double by-elections

Sabah Umno has identified four individuals as potential candidates to contest in the double by-elections which will be held in Lamag state constituency and Kinabatangan parliament constituency.

Sabah Umno liaison chairman Datuk Jafri Ariffin said that the party is scrutinising the criteria of a winnable candidate after discussing with grassroot leaders.

“We have identified several candidates and I heard what was said by the grassroot leadership. We will raise the matter to be decided at a suitable time,” he said after chairing Sabah Umno liaison meeting last night.

He revealed that the potential candidates are fresh faces, male with high potential to give a much convincing win.

The Election Commission has set for the double by-elections to be held on Jan 24, nomination will be on Jan 10 and early voting is scheduled on Jan 20.

The double by-elections has been called following the death of its incumbent Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin on Dec 5.
