Hindu temple scheduled for demolition on Jan 9
A Hindu temple in Dengkil is scheduled to be demolished on Jan 9 by members of the public.
Those keen on the demolition is believed to have discussed the matter at Masjid Raja Haji Fisabilillah, Cyberjaya yesterday.
Land owner Suhaili Ahmad in a Facebook conversation stated that he had lodged a complaint to the Sepang Land Office.
“The lady at the counter questioned me, why didn’t you fence your land. I was silenced and paid quit rent.”
An individual who is organising the demolition known as Tamim Damri on Facebook said a one week grace period has been given to enable those managing the temple to move the idols in the sanctum.
He also posted a timeline on what had happened since the land was purchased by Suhaili in 2001.
“There was a surau and a shrine there and they were given a replacement plot of land elsewhere.
“The owner rented out the land to those keen on putting up billboard advertisements.
“Once the contract to put up billboards ended, the owber visited the land and was shocked by the presence of the temple which is bigger now.
A police report was made in June followed by a report to the Land Office but no action has been taken thus far.
