MCMC mulls legal action against X, Fahmi confirms

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has confirmed that the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission is mulling over legal action against X for its failure in ensuring user safety in Malaysia.

“The government is weighing legal action against X for failing to guarantee the safety of users in Malaysia and other countries,” he said.

Fahmi added that the government had previously taken Telegram to court over similar concerns.

User safety has been an issue with X since X’s AI app, Grok allows users to generate inappropriate images of women.

MCMC suspended the access of Grok in Malaysia.
