Police report lodged against Zamri Vinoth to prevent the rally

A government backbencher has lodged a police report to deny the necessary police approval against the Anti – Illegal Places of Worship Movement rally from taking place.

Jelutong MP RSN Rayer pointed out that the coordinator for the rally Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu had a track record of sparking off racial tensions which could lead to a disruption in public disharmony.

“I am making this police report because I am worried that this rally, if allowed, would cause racial and religious tensions, disrupt the peace and public harmony.

“I believe if this rally by Zamri Vinoth is allowed, it would contribute to racial disunity as Zamri has a tendency to spark off racial tensions between one race and the other as he had previously done.

“I would like to appeal to the police to not allow Zamri from having this rally on Feb 7 from 8pm to 11pm in front of Sogo for the sake of peace and wellbeing of this nation.”

Harapan Daily had sighted a copy of the police report that Rayer lodged at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters last night.

Zamri Vinoth is an Indian Muslim convert preacher who has had 894 police reports lodged against him for insulting the Hindu faith in the past.

MIC and MIPP too have raised their concerns over this rally.
