Why arrest rally organisers for a rally that was called off?

Jelutong MP RSN Rayer demanded an explanation from the police as to why they had arrested organisers of another rally at 1 AM today.

“The police must explain why they arrested the organisers of Rally to Object Police, Government Reluctance to take Action Against Insults towards Hinduism in Malaysia in particular Arun Doraisamy , Cikgu Segar and Sai Saravana early this morning around 1am as they had already called off the peaceful gathering.

“The police must certainly know the difference between citizens who obey the law and the ones who brazenly defy the law .

The rally called was supposed to be held today in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

It was however called off due to the advice given by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday.

Arun Doraisamy is an activist on Hindu rights. Segar and Sai Saravana are members of Urimai – a yet to be registered political party.
