Government raises diesel cash aid to RM300 amid global fuel price surge
The government has increased the RM200 Budi MADANI cash assistance under the Budi Diesel programme to RM300.
In a Facebook post, the Finance Ministry said the increase took effect on March 17.
The move comes as diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia rose to RM5.52 per litre following a sharp increase in global oil prices. Prices in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan remain unchanged at RM2.15 per litre.
The measure aims to ease the financial burden on diesel users following the rise in global fuel prices.
As part of the government’s fuel subsidy strategy, eligible Malaysians can continue to purchase RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre through the Budi95 programme.
Prices for RON97 and unsubsidised RON95 have also been revised in line with global market trends.
