No evidence linking MACC to ‘corporate mafia’, says IGP

Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail today said police have so far found no evidence linking the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to the alleged “corporate mafia” activities.

However, he emphasised that the probe is still ongoing, with several individuals both within the country and overseas, already identified for questioning.

“From the initial stage until now, there has been no involvement from the MACC. However, investigations will continue as directed.

“There are several individuals who still need to be called in for questioning,” he said at a press conference in Bukit Aman.

He added that he has received instructions for the investigation to proceed, but noted that only limited details can be disclosed at this stage.
