Medical device supply still stable, Malaysia gets extra materials from China
Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) has assured that the supply position of medical devices in the country remains stable and under control despite the global energy crisis.
As part of proactive efforts, the Medical Device Authority (MDA) under MOH has finalised a strategic agreement with China to increase the supply of resin and naphtha raw materials for local industrial use.
The initiative is aimed at stabilising the supply chain and ensuring the continuity of critical medical device production in Malaysia.
MOH said the additional supply would act as a major catalyst in addressing the current shortage of raw materials and support the needs of the national healthcare system.
The Malaysian government also expressed its appreciation to the China government for its commitment in supporting the stability of raw material supply chains for the regional medical device industry.
MOH added that it will continue to closely monitor the situation and ensure that the distribution of supplies is carried out efficiently and prudently, based on clinical needs for the well-being of the people.
