Covert underage conversions to Islam is unlawful, unconstitutional, rules High Court
The TikTok video promoting covert underage conversions to Islam by converted preacher Firdaus Wong has been deemed as unlawful and unconstitutional by the High Court.
High Court judge Amarjeet Singh instructed Firdaus to permanently remove the video and prohibited him from uploading videos or publishing statements of similar nature, reported FMT.
Firdaus was also ordered to pay RM10,000 to the parents of eight non-Muslim parents who filed the case against him.
The controversial preacher posted a video of him explaining how to secretly convert minors to Islam without the need for proper documentation in June last year.
That led to many police reports against Firdaus.
Police probed the matter under Section 505(c) of the Penal Code which criminalises the act of making statements that is conducive to public mischief.
The eight non-Muslim parents had sought a declaration and an injunction on July 18, 2024.
