Opening new opportunities via strategic blockchain integration
The Ministry of Digital today reinforced its commitment to fostering a dynamic and innovative blockchain ecosystem in Malaysia. This comes following a productive Blockchain Industry Roundtable held in conjunction with the Malaysia Blockchain Week (MYBW).
Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo met 15 prominent industry leaders during the roundtable discussion. The dialogue focused on actionable strategies to accelerate the growth and adoption of blockchain technology across various sectors in the country. The insights gathered are crucial in accelerating Malaysia’s digital transformation.
“Blockchain is more than just technology – it is an enabler of trust. When integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) and Web3 technologies, blockchain unlocks unprecedented opportunities in areas such as smart governance, decentralised finance, supply chain integrity, digital identity, and secure data sharing,” said Gobind.
To ensure Malaysia remains at the forefront of digital innovation, Gobind revealed that the Ministry of Digital will establish a dedicated Digital Asset and Blockchain Working Committee.
This committee will serve as a key forum for exploring innovation opportunities, addressing regulatory clarity, and guiding the strategic adoption of blockchain technologies across various sectors.
The establishment of this committee reflects the Ministry of Digital’s proactive approach to creating an enabling environment for businesses and innovators in the digital asset space.
“I am committed to developing the necessary policies, infrastructure, and incentives to support the widespread adoption of blockchain across various industries,” Gobind added.
Meanwhile, over 2,000 participants from more than 10 nations will attend the MYBW scheduled today and tomorrow at the World Trade Centre.
