Hundreds of police reports against Firdaus Wong, Zamri Vinoth but evidence is lacking
Despite the hundreds of police reports lodged against controversial convert preachers Firdaus Wong and Zamri Vinoth, no further action has been taken against the duo due to lack of evidence.
“Based on the feedback from the Attorney General Chambers (AGC), I was informed that AGC has thus far found there is a lack of evidence to prove elements of wrongdoing under any legal provisions to prosecute both the individual in court,” said Law and Institutional Reforms Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
She said this in her written reply to RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) who asked why the controversial duos were not charged in court.
Azalina added that unlike civil cases, there are no time limit to criminal charges.
“If there are new developments, in the future, further investigations and reviews can still be carried out,” she added.
Wong is well known for advocating conversion for non Muslim underage school going children whereas Vinoth has frequently made statements that is demeaning to the Hindus.
