Retain the youngsters, PHEB
Those who appoint the board members of the Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB) have been advised to retain the current younger group of leaders.
“They should absorb younger, vibrant leaders in the board such (vice chair Senator Dr A Lingeshwaran and board member K Kumaran.
“Having younger working group of leaders would increase the board’s efficiency,” said a source in the know of the latest developments in PHEB to Harapan Daily.
The issue comes as terms of RSN Rayer as PHEB chairman and as vice chair Lingeshwaran comes to an end this month
The source who is in the know said this following allegations that a certain individual is allegedly actively involved in determining the future of the Endowment Board members. The individual is allegedly not even a DAP member.
The newly suggested board members happen to be veteran Penangites in their 80s who have also served the community in the past.
In addition to that, a WhatsApp message that has gone viral claimed that critics cited allegations of autocratic decision making, politicization of PHEB and failure to address grassroots concerns.
