Thailand, Cambodia agrees to a comprehensive seven-point agreement
Thailand and Cambodian military commanders have reached a comprehensive seven – point agreement that would de-escalate their shared border tensions, reported Thailand’s The Nation.
The Royal Thai Army was represented by Commander of Thailand’s 2nd Army Region, Lieutenanat General Boonsin Padklang met with Deputy Commander of Cambodian Military Region 4 in Surin Province.
The seven points are as the following:
Immediate ceasefire.
Prohibition of firing at civilians.
Halt to troop reinforcement.
Prohibition of troop movement.
Facilitation of the repatriation of injured and deceased personnel.
Establishment of a four-person coordination team from each side to resolve issues.
Await further discussions based on the General Border Committee (GBC) meeting scheduled for 4th August 2025.
This meeting at the military level comes after both Thailand and Cambodia agreed for a ceasefire in a meeting chaired by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
