Choose Penang for your employment, says Penang DCM

Graduates of Penang should choose the state as their choice of employment, said Penang Deputy Chief Minister Jagdeep Singh Deo.

“In reality because of the shifting in global trade trends, the world is coming to Penang to look at prospects to invest and to tap our talents to boost the global supply chain.”

This would raise the salary scale while the state also works towards providing good housing deals to retain talents, he added.

“To grab the opportunities, the young must profess to stay in Penang and further their careers, especially in areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM),” he told some 200 students who gathered for the inaugural Commonwealth of World Chinatowns (CWC) conference at Jen Hotel.

The CWC conference is a landmark event to tap the resources of Chinatowns, while exploring sustainable initiatives and space exploration besides offering a glimpse into the world of alternative archeology and arts.

Jagdeep told the students that the technology they acquire including from online applications must be used for their good and not to harm others by indulging in negativity and falsehoods.

He said that students need to understand that the future of good employment comes with the mastery of STEM and Penang has the resources for it.

Later when meeting the Malaysian Teachers’ Training Institute Penang campus in Gelugor, Jagdeep assured budding educators that the state stands ready to work closely with the relevant authorities to improve the education standards.
