Ratio of foreigners using government hospitals compared to Malaysians

The ratio of foreigners using government hospitals compared to Malaysians is 1 foreigner for every 52 patients in 2024.

“Overall the number of foreigners seeking treatment in government hospitals is still low at 1.93%,” said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad in his written reply in Dewan Negara.

Figuratively there are 462,140 foreigners to 23,480,494 Malaysians in government hospitals.

The ratio for in patient treatment is 1:22, outpatient treatment 1:61 and daily treatment 1:80.

Dr Dzulkefly revealed the above in response to a question from Senator Abdul Halim Sulaiman.
