Cyberbullying targeted at women, children, media ventures into 3R
Victims who lodged police reports against cyberbullies hoping for protection now claim their reports were leaked within hours.
Information such as home addresses, family information and personal details to the very cyberbullies they sought protection from.
A video uploaded yesterday intensified concerns when a troll account warned a victim that “all police report details are provided by a high-ranking police officer and nobody can touch him.”
The troll account claimed dire consequences would befall anyone attempting to file reports.
Victims allege that harassment sharply escalated after their confidential documents were leaked by what they believe to be a corrupt police insider.
The cyberbullying network, widely identified as the Amaley Ganjak group, has been accused of launching systematic harassment campaigns against women on TikTok, including sexual threats, rape threats, stalking, and doxxing.
A woman identified as Nagananthini, known on TikTok as “Shil”, has repeatedly been named by victims for allegedly leaking confidential information obtained from police reports.
Calls are growing for authorities to investigate her alleged involvement before more people—especially children—are victimised.
Posts also revealed that media practitioners from two news portals have been receiving threats after publishing articles exposing the network’s behaviour.
Journalists who published their works with verified evidence and credible sources were accused of “spreading fake news” and later faced violent threats, including murder, acid attacks, and intimidation involving alleged gang members.
Personal details of their family members too have been circulated online.
The cyberbully network have further fuelled public outrage by provoking 3R-related tensions, including derogatory insults directed at the Hindu deity Lord Rama, raising concerns of potential religious incitement.
A man identified as Joseph Prakash has allegedly appeared in live sessions and video posts supporting or interacting with troll accounts linked to the network, prompting calls for a deeper review of his role.
Victims are pleading for quick action from the authorities as the delay only provides more time for perpetrators have to escalate their attacks.
“I want justice for my daughter. I don’t want this to happen to any other child… There must be action against these cyberbullies,” said a mother whose bullied teenager survived a suicide attempt.
