Kudat included in Trans Borneo Railway Project Feasibility Study
Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed that the Trans Borneo Railway Project Feasibility Study currently undertaken by his minister is also evaluating the range potentials of rail in north of Sabah that includes Kudat.
“Sabah Government stressed that Kudat will be the location for Blue Economy Port, a blue economy concept port that emphasizes on sustainable maritime development, including logistics, fisheries, maritime tourism and regional trade are also considered in the study.
“In the initial stage, aspects such as implementation costs, real cargo and passenger demand and technical challenges are being studied in depth,” Loke explained.
He said this in response to Datuk Verdon Bahanda (IND-Kudat) who queried on Transport Ministry’s plans for a Trans Borneo Railway Project Feasibility Study that includes Kota Kinabalu – Kudat route.
