New evidence surfaces in the Durian Tunggal police shooting

New evidence have surfaced in the Durian Tunggal police shooting case that proves the shooting had occurred between 1.25am and 2.20am on Nov 24.

Rights activist Arun Dorasamy revealed that he received photographs and a letter from an anonymous source. The letter was written in romanised Tamil.

He related what was written in the letter by the anonymous source to the press.

“Upon noticing a tow truck at KM 224, PLUS sent a tow truck at 1.25am. The tow truck driver saw the police beating the three victims. One of the policeman used foul language to tell the tow truck driver to leave.

“The tow truck informed other tow truck drivers on WhatsApp. I went there at 2.21am. There was no one there. I photographed the car without touching it.

“I was afraid of my safety after finding out that it is related to the Durian Tunggal case,” he read.

Based on the letter, he also revealed that there were eight policemen in three cars involved in shooting the victims.

They were in a Proton Saga, Proton Waja and a Perodua Aruz.

The three victims – Puspanathan Murulitharan, 21; Poonesvaran Tiagarajan, 24; and Logeswaran Georgie, 29 – were killed on November 24.

Lawyers in this case – Rajesh Nagarajan and Sachpreetraj Singh would be lodging police reports to submit new evidence at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters.
