Saravanan happy Zahid cares about MIC, talks about the party at other party AGMs
MIC deputy president Datuk M Saravanan is happy that BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is talking more about MIC even when the latter attends the annual general meetings (AGMs) of other parties.
“I am happy that Zahid cares about us. He goes to IPF, Makkal Sakthi AGMs and yet talks about us.
“I must thank him for that . He can continue doing that. There are still five to six Indian parties.
“The longer we delay our decision, the more he talks about us,” said Saravanan to Harapan Daily.
He said this in response to the ultimatum given by Zahid to MIC.
Earlier today Zahid gave an ultimatum to the MIC to decide whether it should remain in BN or leave. He said that at Malaysia Makkal Sakthi Party’s AGM in Penang.
Previously Zahid had raised the MIC issue during Indian Progressive Front’s AGM.
MIC delegates had passed a resolution to leave BN but left the final decision to the all powerful central working committee.
Saravanan also gave a reminder to Zahid.
“Don’t think by attacking the MIC, you would get more Indian support.
“You would be surprised with the support that we have on the ground.”
When asked on when MIC would be holding its central working committee meeting that will determine its path, Saravanan said that would be determined by party president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran.
