ROS recognises MIPP office bearers as the legitimate party
Registrar of Societies have confirmed the legitimacy of Malaysian Indian People’s Party (MIPP) office bearers.
“On 26 January 2026, the ROS issued an official letter to the president confirming that all complaints against the Party and its leadership were baseless.
“The ROS affirmed that the Party’s documents and procedures were in proper order after a full investigation,” said MIPP secretary general Sathes Kumar Nilameham in a statement
“The ROS also revoked its earlier letter dated 5 December 2025. That letter had been misused by irresponsible individuals to distort facts, mislead members, and confuse the public.
“On 27 January 2026, the ROS formally confirmed the list of members of the Party’s Central Working Committee,” added Sathes.
“With this confirmation, P Punithan remains the legitimate president of MIPP. All members of the Central Committee are duly recognised and lawful office bearers.”
Controversy over MIPP arose last year when some members disputed the membership of Punithan and deputy president S Subramaniam.
Their grouses stemmed from the fact that they were not allowed to sit in a public office due to their financial status.
In a related development, one of the disgruntled member, Santharasekaran Subramaniam withdrew his suit that was filed at the Shah Alam High Court yesterday.
