Signal system disruption led to LRT delay

Signalling system disruption between the Gombak and Ampang Park LRT stations has led to train services on the Kelana Jaya LRT line to be delayed.

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, in a statement, said the disruption has resulted in service irregularities along the affected stretch, with trains unable to operate from Gombak to KLCC temporarily.

Engineering teams have been deployed to the site to carry out rectification works and restore normal operations as soon as possible.

Rapid Rail has activated alternative train services and free feeder bus services to minimise the inconvenience to commuters.

“Under the alternative train arrangement, trains from Putra Heights will turn back at Pasar Seni station at six-minute intervals. In addition, a shuttle train service will operate between Pasar Seni and KLCC at 20-minute intervals,” the statement read.

Free feeder buses have also been deployed to ply between Gombak and KLCC, stopping at Taman Melati, Wangsa Maju, Sri Rampai, Setiawangsa, Jelatek, Dato’ Keramat, Damai and Ampang Park stations.

The buses are expected to operate at intervals of between 15 and 20 minutes, subject to current traffic conditions.

Rapid Rail said commuters may experience longer waiting times on platforms, particularly between KLCC and Pasar Seni stations.

“Police personnel and station staff have been stationed at platforms and concourse areas to assist with crowd control and ensure passenger safety.”

“Regular announcements on train movements are being made at stations, and passengers are advised to refer to Rapid KL’s social media platforms for the latest updates,” it said.
