Good news for rakyat, government advances STR & SARA aid for hari raya!
The government has announced that the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) Phase 2, initially scheduled for April, will be brought forward to this Tuesday and will be paid in stages.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that this move involves a financial allocation of RM1.3 billion, benefiting five million recipients.
Speaking at the Prime Minister’s monthly assembly today, Anwar said the early disbursement is expected to help millions of Malaysians prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
The number of recipients for Phase 2 has increased to 5.2 million compared with five million in Phase 1.
“Through STR, Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) and SARA Untuk Semua, the MADANI government continues to ensure that the nation’s wealth is shared and enjoyed by the people, especially those in need,” he said
Anwar, who is also a Finance Minister, added that the Special Financial Assistance (BKK) of RM500 for all civil servants Grade 15 and below, including contract appointments, will be disbursed on 13 March.
“This includes government retirees and veterans, both pensioned and non-pensioned, who will receive RM250 on the same date. This assistance is exempted from income tax,” he explained.
Additionally, the Prime Minister announced a special allocation of RM500 for 70,000 KAFA teachers, takmir teachers, imams, bilals, tok siaks, nojas, and marbuts in recognition of their service, as outlined in the 2026 Budget.
