No snap election soon, Anwar tells politicians to stop politics & save the country
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said there will be no snap general election in the near future, stressing that the government is prioritising efforts to address the nation’s current challenges.
He said, the administration is focused on governance and recovery, rather than political rivalry, adding that no election will be held within the next one or two months.
“This is not politics. This is not about political rivalry or being hostile to one another. I will not be holding an election in the next one or two months, just be patient.
“When the time comes for elections, then compete. For now, we work. Enough of politics, rise and save our country” he said when officiating the Perak Madani Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2026 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Raya yesterday.
He added that elections will only take place when the appropriate time comes, urging leaders and the public alike to focus on work and national development instead of politics.
