Anwar extends Kaamatan and Gawai greetings, reaffirms commitment to Sabah, Sarawak

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended Kaamatan and Gawai greetings to the people of Sabah and Sarawak, describing the celebrations as meaningful expressions of gratitude rooted in the traditions and heritage of the two states.

In a statement, Anwar said the festivities reflect the spirit of togetherness, unity and appreciation for the blessings of the harvest.

He said Malaysia’s diversity in customs, languages and cultures demonstrates the country’s strength in preserving harmony amid its multicultural society, while fostering mutual respect and brotherhood.

Anwar also reaffirmed the MADANI Government’s commitment to ensuring Sabah and Sarawak continue to receive fair and sustainable development benefits.

He said this commitment must be translated into better educational opportunities, quality healthcare access, comprehensive basic infrastructure development and a more dignified standard of living for the people.

The Prime Minister wished the people of Sabah “Kotobian Tadau Tagazo Do Kaamatan” and the people of Sarawak “Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai”, expressing hope that the celebrations would bring prosperity, blessings and further strengthen the spirit of unity and togetherness that underpins Malaysia’s harmony.
