Truce ends, war resumes in Gaza

The one day extension for truce has come to an abrupt end. Israeli Defence Forces have resumed combat operations after Hamas fired rockets at Israel.

“Hamas violated the operational pause, and in addition, fired toward Israeli territory. The IDF has resumed combat against the Hamas terrorist organisation in the Gaza Strip,” the IDF is reported as saying.

Israeli military vehicles were firing in northwest Gaza, according to the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Interior in Gaza.

In a statement, the ministry also said Israeli aircraft were in the skies above the area, reported CNN.
