Police did not pursue Kuru

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain dismissed claims by US based academic Ahmet T Kuru that the latter was under investigation.

“We had no intentions of arresting him,” he said, reported FMT.

The US based Turkish-American director of Islamic and Arabic studies of San Diego State University had claimed that he was approached who identified themselves as police and accused him as being a terrorist.

One of them even attempted to snatch his passport.

Razarudin said checks proved that no police personnel approached Kuru.

“There is no issue with him,” Razaruddin said.

Kuru recently stole the media limelight when the book launch of his work that was translated into Malay was called off.
