Young leaders needed to preserve nation honour
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that the nation requires courageous young leaders to preserve its honour.
Anwar emphasises that young leaders must also maintain integrity by avoiding corruption in order to enact meaningful changes in the country.
“It is important for our youth to defend their rights and to reject corruption and cruelty.
“We sometimes forget and can get careless, so we need to wake up,” he said.
He said this during the launching of the Pertubuhan Lima Generasi Malaysia at the Ipoh Convention Centre here yesterday.
“We have brave youth who can fight for what they want.
“We must first clean ourselves of corruption, and only then can we progress and uphold our country’s dignity,” he added.
Anwar emphasized his commitment to safeguarding the country’s rights and sovereignty, pledging to ensure its progress by any means necessary.
“I don’t care. You can curse and criticise me or even send me to jail, but I will come back out and fight.
“With whatever powers and machinery I have, I will ensure that I will uphold the dignity of our country,” he said.
“This is the time we stand up as a force to be reckoned with, as people who can show our greatness, be hardworking, be principled, and fight for justice and the country,” he added.
He further emphasized that the nation and its people must not remain complacent, as doing so would result in falling behind.
“We cannot be complacent. We want to be competent,” he said.
“We want our country to be great. We need knowledge, investments and artificial intelligence to progress. We also want to eradicate poverty,” he added.
