DAP isn’t as thick skinned as Gerakan’s Lau
The DAP isn’t as thick skinned as the Gerakan, said DAP secretary general Anthony Loke when queried on why the party isn’t assisting BN in the Nenggiri by-election.
“I am not thick skinned. If people don’t invite, I wouldn’t go,” said Loke.
On that note he denied the notion that the DAP is not in solidarity with the rest of the unity government component parties.
“I have said it. We have the spirit of togetherness. If there is an invite, we will go.
“If there is no necessity for us to go due to some views, maybe we are not needed.
“I have a big face but I am not thick skinned like Dominic Lau (of Gerakan which is part of Perikatan Nasional). If there is no invite, I would not go,” he said, reported Berita Harian.
He said this after officiating an event at the Gombak Road Transport Department.
BN is fielding Kelantan Umno Youth chief Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani against Bersatu’s Rizwadi Ismail.
Loke hit out at Lau since Lau has instructed his party machinery to assist in the Nenggiri by-election even though Gerakan has yet to resolve its difference with Pas and was not invited to join the campaign trail.
The Nenggiri by-election would be held on Aug 17.
