Media report: Cabinet reshuffle, again?

Another cabinet reshuffle maybe looming soon and this time it would be involving a prominent minister from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s party.

The minister will either be moved or dropped from the Cabinet, said a source, reported FMT.

“The person’s performance has been in question and the individual is expected to be removed or shifted to another ministry,” said a source.

A Menteri Besar too is believed to take up a ministerial post and this was discussed prior to the Cabinet reshuffle in December.

“The possibility of him being moved to the federal government now is higher. At the state level, several assemblymen are in the know about this,” the source added.

FMT also reported that another source from the DAP confirmed a Cabinet reshuffle by the end of this month with deputy ministers getting promoted to ministers.

“The talk was initially for the reshuffle to happen by the end of this month, so we just have to wait and see: in politics, anything can happen,” the source said.

A corporate source meanwhile independently said a minister’s team had cited an impending reshuffle as the reason for cancellation of the minister’s appearance at a company event this month.

“We locked in the minister’s date for the event but the minister’s team declined at the last minute, citing the reshuffle as the reason,” the source said.
