PM on the use of Sedition Act: Don’t play politics, Hamzah
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim countered the accusation that his unity government was being a hypocrite by pointing out that the Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin was playing politics on the issue.
“The report against (PN chairman and Bersatu president Tan Sri) Muhyiddin (Yassin) was lodged by the Pahang palace.
“So, he (Hamzah) does not need to spin. He knows, but he just wants to play politics.
“I would like to advise that this issue was raised by the Pahang and Selangor palaces.
“You break the law, you crossed the line, so you have to deal with it,” Anwar told reporters.
Yesterday Hamzah accused the unity government of hypocrisy since it was defending the use of Sedition Act even though PH is against the particular act.
Muhyiddin was charged at Gua Musang court for sedition as he had allegedly questioned the wisdom of the 16th Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah during the Nenggiri by-election campaign.
