Pastor Raymond Koh, Amri Che Mat’s disappearances still under police investigation

The police investigation into the disappearances of Pastor Raymond Koh and Amri Che Mat are still ongoing, confirmed Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

“The Royal Malaysian Police’s investigation into the case of Pastor Raymond Koh and Amri Che Mat is still ongoing to date. Hence, I would not like to comment further regarding the case as it may disrupt the probe,” said Saifuddin in his written reply to Lim Guan Eng (PH-Bagan).

Suhakam had conducted a public inquiry into the disappearance of both Koh and Amri. It also concluded that the state apparatus had a hand in the enforced disappearance of both the individuals.

As for the death case of former political aide Teoh Beng Hock, the investigation papers have been reopened.

“The PDRM has reopened the investigation papers into the case of the late Teoh Beng Hock under section 342 of the Penal Code for wrongful confinement. The investigation papers was submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers but they have returned the papers to the police on Aug 6 2024 for further investigation,” said Saifuddin.

Teoh died in July 2009 while being probed over allegations of corruption by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission in Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam.
