Papagomo arrested

Controversial blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris has been arrested by the police for making scandalous statements that implicated the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

He had allegedly made the statement in a 2:46 minute video clip in which he questioned the actions of the King who granted an audience to the founder of KK Mart store who was embroiled in a controversy over socks that the word ‘Allah’ printed on it.

Papagomo claimed that the ruler was the one who ordered for Bersatu information committee member Badrul Hisham Shaharin to be prosecuted under the Sedition Act. Badrul faced similar charges today.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed that Papagomo was detained by the federal classified crimes investigation unit at the latter’s home in Setapak and he is detained at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.

Police is probing him under section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998.
