Social media users questioned Khairul’s academic credentials, not us
It was not the unity government that raised the alarm over the academic credentials of Perikatan Nasional’s Kuala Kubu Baharu candidate – Khairul Azhari Saut, said DAP secretary general Anthony Loke.
Khairul’s academic credentials was however questioned by social media users who asked how could he obtain a master’s degree without a first degree.
“We never said his qualifications were not valid. It was raised on social media. We never started it,” he told reporters today in Kuala Kubu Baharu while stumping for the party’s candidate, Pang Sock Tao.
“So what we did was to state facts. We did not engage in any form of character assassination,” he said.
It prompted Pas youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari to question Pang’s academic qualification. In response, Pang revealed she was a straight As scorer in SPM and UPSR examination.
Pang, Khairul, PRM’s Hafizah Zainuddin and Independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin would face off in a four cornered fight for the semi urban, mixed constituency of Kuala Kubu Baharu on May 11.
The by-election was triggered by the death of its incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong of the DAP.
