‘Security on KKB polling day will be top notch’
Security on polling day in Kuala Kubu Baharu would be at the top level, assured Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
A number of policemen have been mobolosed to control the process
He said that a discussion on the coordination of security aspects during voting day and the campaigning period was held with Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, yesterday afternoon.
“The police force has been deployed with a sufficient and reasonable number, which cannot be disclosed.
“We also found that the number of complaints throughout the campaigning period which has entered the second phase is few. If there is any, there was one case related to the signage using combined Umno and DAP logos.
“There are no other reports which are considered alarming. Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh also mentioned that there were only one or two complaints and this is the result of continuous monitoring,” he said, last night.
The by-election sees a four-corner fight involving Pakatan Harapan’s Pang Sock Tao, Perikatan Nasional’s Khairul Azhari Saut, PRM’s Hafizah Zainuddin and Independent Nyau Ke Xin.
It was triggered by the death of its three term assemblyman – DAP’s Lee Kee Hiong who succumbed to cancer.
