Defamation suit by DAP trio vs Siti Mastura goes for mediation
The defamation suit filed by DAP national chairman Lim Guan Eng, party veteran Lim Kit Siang and vice president Teresa Kok against Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Mohamad of Pas is set for a mediation session tomorrow.
The first mediation involves Kit Siang and Siti Mastura at 11am. The session is held in the Annex of Penang High Court for an hour.
This is followed a session involving Guan Eng at noon and Kok at 2.30pm.
During the Kemaman by-election campaign Siti Mastura alleged that Singapore founder Lee Kuan Yew, Communist Party of Malaya secretary general Ong Boon Hua, better known as Chin Peng and Kit Siang are cousins.
She also alleged that the top leaders of the DAP are from the same family. In addition to that she claimed that DAP national chairman’s wife, Betty Chew and Kok are cousins.
A three day period was given to the Kepala Batas lawmaker to prove her allegations. Her failure to substantiate her claim led to a defamation case filed against her by Guan Eng, Kit Siang and Teresa Kok.
During the initial hearing session, Siti Mastura claimed she obtained the information from a BN campaign handbook.
