Higher GDP, moderate inflation, says Bank Negara
Malaysia recorded a higher gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the first quarter of this year compared to the last quarter of 2023, announced Bank Negara Malaysia.
It recorded a growth of 4.2 percent due to stronger private expenditure and positive turnaround in exports.
Malaysia managed a GDP growth rate of 2.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Inflation remained moderate at 1.7 percent in the first quarter of 2024. It is a rise of 0.1 percent compared to the final quarter of last year.
