Sanusi’s representation was rejected
Two representations to dismiss the sedition charges against Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, who is also Perikatan Nasional election director, has been dismissed by the Attorney General’s Chambers.
This was confirmed by deputy public prosecutor Masri Daud during a case mention at the Shah Alam High Court, reported Berita Harian.
He is facing charges over remarks he made on the appointment of Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and the establishment of the unity government during the state polls in Selangor last year.
Sanusi is charged with committing the offence in Gombak on July 11 last year under section 4(1) (b) of the Sedition Act 1948. If convicted he would have to pay a RM5000 fine, a maximum jail sentence of three years or both.
The trial is scheduled to take place from 22 July until 13 Aug.
