Kok receives bullets, threat letter

Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, received a threatening letter and bullets yesterday. 

“Yesterday, when I returned to my home and retrieved the mail from my mailbox, I found an envelope containing something solid inside,” she said via a Facebook post.

Apparently, upon opening the envelope and removing its contents, she discovered two bullets and a piece of white A4-sized paper with writing on it.

“I am surprised and do not understand why I received bullets and threatening letters like this,” she said. 

“Cibailu Cina?!!! Lu Akan Mati !!! TUNGGU!!!” was written on the paper. 

In the same Facebook post, she disclosed that she had reported the incident to the police at the Petaling Police Station, where she handed over the threatening letter and bullet. 

“They also came to inspect the mailbox area in my condominium,” she said. 

In her post, she expressed gratitude to the police for taking swift action in this matter.

Teressa said: “I appreciate the swift action taken by the police after I filed the report. I trust that the police will be able to assist me in this matter.”

In March 2024, several papers containing threatening messages targeting Teluk Intan MP Nga Kor Ming were found scattered outside his mother’s home in Ayer Tawar, Manjung.

In a related development DAP condemned the death threat and stood in solidarity with Kok.

“I, representing the entire leadership of DAP, strongly condemn the death threat against the Deputy National Chairman of DAP cum Member of Parliament for Seputeh, Sister Teresa Kok, yesterday,” said DAP’s Secretary-general Loke Siew Fook via Facebook.

Loke added: “Violence is absolutely unacceptable in our society, especially in handling political differences of opinion.”

He thank the police for their prompt action upon receiving the police report.

“I trust they will investigate diligently and apprehend the perpetrators,” he said.
