Putrajaya selected for National Day celebration for the second year in a row

The Federal Government Administrative Centre in Putrajaya has been selected to host the National Day celebration on August 31 for the second consecutive year under the Madani Government.

The Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced that this decision was made during the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

He added that Sabah has been chosen as the location for the Malaysia Day celebration on September 16.

“The specific location in Sabah will be determined after the first meeting chaired by myself and the Sabah Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Environment, Christina Liew,” he said.

He also mentioned that the logo and theme for both celebrations will be decided later.

Last year, the government introduced the theme “Malaysia Madani: Determination in Unity, Fulfilling Hope” for the National Day celebration.

The National Day celebration in Putrajaya would be held there for the sixth time since it was first held there in 2003.

It was also held in 2005, 2018, and 2019, 2023.
