Perlis MB’s son to face charges under MACC Act

Tomorrow, the son of Perlis Menteri Besar and his former political secretary will be charged in court for allegedly submitting false claims amounting to RM600,000.

The duo will be charged under Section 18 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.

“He (the son of the Perlis Menteri Besar) will be charged in court on Thursday (tomorrow). Further details about the charges will be informed by the MACC later,” said the source, reported Berita Harian.

The source confirmed that Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli is still being investigated by the MACC.

The suspects are charged regarding the implementation of infrastructure development projects such as repairs, maintenance, supply, and services throughout Perlis since 2022.

The Perlis Menteri Besar’s son and four others were released on 26 April after their remand period ended.

MACC also revealed that they will be charging the company owner and the former political secretary at different courts.
