Ministry honors Agong with orchid

The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) named a new hybrid orchid species ‘Aranda Ibrahim Iskandar,’ in honour of the Agong Sultan Ibrahim, and presented it to His Majesty at an opening ceremony.

This event took place at the National Landscape Day (HLN) 2024 Opening Ceremony at Taman Tasik Shah Alam here today, reported Bernama.

During the event, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming mentioned in his welcoming speech that the hybrid orchid presented has been registered with the International Registration Authority for Orchid Hybrids in England.

The reddish-orange hybrid orchid, symbolizing enthusiasm, bravery, and leadership, mirrors Hos Majesty’s character, said Nga.

The ongoing HLN 2024 event, themed ‘Industri Landskap Pemacu Pembangunan Madani’ (Landscape Industry Driving Madani Development), provides a valuable platform for enthusiasts in the landscape industry to showcase and market their products.

The event started yesterday and extends until June 2.
