EC: No election petition against Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election results

The Election Commission confirmed that it did not receive any petitions against the results of the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election, confirmed EC acting chairman, Azmi Shahrom.

“So far none,” he said during a press conference today.

Earlier on he chaired a meeting to fix the date for the Sungai Bakap by-election.

The confirmation was made because Pas secretary general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin had claimed that opposition coalition Perikatan Nasional would be filing a petition if Pakatan Harapan won in Kuala Kubu Baharu.

Selangor PN chairman Datuk Seri Azmin Ali is reported to have said that his coalition is collecting facts and evidence of wrongdoings in the by-election before it files a petition.

PH candidate Pang Sock Tao defended the seat with 3,869 vote majority against Bersatu’s Khairul Azhari Saut and two others in a four cornered fight for the semi urban seat.
